‘I love Cat’s yoga class! My physical issues such as knee & back problems, and dealing with lupus can be limit my physical activities. Cat encourages participation with alternate moves, through her individual attention to each participant. My hesitation of attending fitness classes because of my limitations was eased through Cat’s warmth and encouragement before, during and after her class. ‘Over the past 30 years I’ve dabbled in yoga and have become more serious in my study. Recently, I have had the pleasure of having Cat O’Connor as a yoga instructor and I consider her my favourite teacher. ‘In order to be there for each other, and for our kids, my wife and I realized we needed first to take better care of ourselves. We decided that getting back into yoga was the easiest way to start dealing with the stress of juggling work and family. ‘It was my good fortune to discover Cat’s yoga practice last spring! Being a relatively new student to yoga, I was looking for an instructor who would gently challenge and guide me with my yoga practice. Cat was my perfect fit. Cat welcomed me with her beautiful calm, warm manner, into an intimate, nurturing environment where she played soothing, meditative music. She created the perfect atmosphere for me to let go and focus on quieting myself, and bringing balance to my mind and body.
So…when it came to organizing a “girls weekend at the cottage” Cat’s Yoga in Motion was an obvious choice. We planned for yoga on the dock @11am with Cat. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had different plans for us as she showered us with thunder storms and gusty winds. Cat diffused our disappointment, as Yoga in Motion moved our small group indoors to her space. Once settled, Cat welcomed each of us, eased any anxiety (our group of 8 came with varied life and yoga experiences) and guided us through our private yoga practice. By the end of savasana, we were each ready to begin our retreat, leaving the stress of the city and work week behind. Cat’s dedication to our practice helped us focus on ourselves, our friendships and our well being. Throughout our weekend, references were constantly being made to Cat and her fabulous Yoga in Motion.
The women from our Girls weekend and I wholeheartedly recommend Cat’s Yoga in Motion for any small group gathering or personal yoga practice.
